TEACH A NEW SONG:

“Wiggle Fingers” – 1 – 5 – 2 – 4 – 3 – 1

Clap and count rhythm (Quar-ter, HALF NOTE, WHOLE NOTE HOLD IT, Two-eights, Half note DOT, rest)

Point to STEPS (line-space and space-line) and SKIPS (line-line, or space-space)

What Position will your hands be in for this song? (Middle C, C Position, G Position, F Position, etc.)

Teacher Plays song while counting aloud.

Student plays the song (teacher or student can count aloud).

Student should play the song 3 times each day at home–memorize it if possible.

 

 

PRACTICE TIPS (for more advanced students)

  1. Practice WITH MUSIC daily (even if your songs are memorized).  All Sonatas should be practiced with Metronome and Music Daily.
  2. BUMBLES (Hard Spots) SLOW LOUD FINGERS – 5 times Hands Together (Daily)
  3. Listen to your Classical pieces on YouTube
  4. Play by Memory
  5. PERFORM DAILY – PERFORM ON DIFFERENT PIANOS AT DIFFERENT PLACES
